CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Two America East baseball squads-- Maine and Vermont-- landed in Baseball America's top five recruiting classes in the Northeast. Maine, who went 22-31 last year, earned the third-best recruiting class in the region, while Vermont replaces last year's senior class of five with the Northeast's fifth-best recruiting class.

Joining the Catamounts for the 2008 season are 12 freshmen, as well as three transfers, including sophomore infielder Justin Milo who will also play ice hockey for Vermont. Head Coach Bill Currier welcomed 15 newcomers in all this fall.

Three pitchers submitted their letters of intent last fall to play at Maine. Of them, two hail from Canada, while the third is a junior transfer from UConn-Avery Point. Head Coach Steve Trimper believes all three can make an immediate impact for the Black Bears.
