Richard Forbes poured in a game-high 25 points to lead the Bearcats to a victory over Empire State rival and defending America East Champion Albany... Binghamton shot a season-high 57.8 percent from the field and made 24 free throws, compared to just seven by Albany, to secure the victory... Five players for both teams netted double-figures in the scoring column as Jamar Wilson led Albany with 16 points.
*at Hartford 80, Boston U. 75 (2OT)
The Hawks survived a grueling double-overtime battle versus the Terriers to improve to 2-0 in league play for the first time since 2002-03... Boston U. has now dropped six-straight by a combined 30 points, including three of its last four in overtime... Joe Zeglinski (22 points and nine rebounds) and Jaret Von Rosenberg (20 and seven) combined for 42 points and 16 rebounds for Hartford... Corey Lowe dropped in a game-high 23 points, including going 6-for-16 from three-point land... The Terriers connected on a school-record 15 three-point field goals as Carlos Strong was an impressive 6-of-7 from beyond the arc.
*UMBC 72, at Stony Brook 53
Brian Hodges came off the bench to score a game-high 20 points to lead the Retrievers to a 2-0 start to the conference slate for the second-straight season... UMBC outshot (57.4 to 35.7 percent) and outrebounded (31-28) the Seawolves in the victory... Stony Brook was paced by Mike Popoko's 15 points... The Seawolves led 29-25 at the half, but UMBC used a blistering second half (73.9 percent from the field), outscoring SBU 47-24, to come away with the win.
*New Hampshire 73, at Maine 68
The Wildcats snapped a seven-game losing streak versus New England rival Maine and recorded their first conference win of the season... The Black Bears have now dropped four-straight, including their first two league contests which were both at home... Mike Christensen led all scorers with an efficient 28 points for UNH as he went 7-for-11 from the field, 4-for-6 from three and 10-for-11 from the charity stripe... Kevin Reed led Maine with 23 points.

*UMBC 73, at Binghamton 71
Brian Hodges three-point play with 5.5 seconds remaining lifted the Retrievers to their third conference-opening victory in four years since joining America East... The win marked UMBC's first triumph over the Bearcats at the Events Center... Hodges led all scorers with 22 points, while teammates Tom Young (12 points) and Jay Greene (10) also tallied double-digits... UMBC shot a season-high 58.8 percent from the field... Binghamton was paced by 16 points apiece from Steve Proctor and Lazar Trifunovic.
*at Vermont 80, Stony Brook 69
Freshman Joe Trapani poured in 23 points, including 21 in the second half, to lead the Catamounts to an 11-point victory over the Seawolves in the conference opener for both squads... Mike Trimboli had an impressive stat line for UVM with 21 points, seven boards, six assists and five steals, while teammate Chris Holm also cracked the double-figure plateau with 14 points... Vermont attempted 36 free throws, compared to just 16 for SBU... Stony Brook was led by Ricky Lucas' 18 points.
*Hartford 62, at Maine 60
The Hawks turned the ball over only four times, including just one miscue in the second half, to win the conference lid-lifter and league debut for first-year head coach Dan Leibovitz... Hartford's Bo Taylor led all scorers with 15 points, while Michael Turner chipped in with 12 of his own for the Hawks as well... Maine was paced by 14 points apiece from Chris Bruff and Kevin Reed.
*at Albany 69, New Hampshire 52
The defending champion Great Danes used a game-high 20 points from reigning America East Player of the Year Jamar Wilson to roll past UNH in the league opener for both teams... Albany jumped out to an 11-0 lead to start the game, but UNH battled back to tie the game at the half, 31-31... Jason Siggers (16 points) and Brent Wilson (10) also netted double figures for UA... Jermaine Anderson led the Wildcats with 18 points, while Blagoj Janev (13 points) and Mike Christensen (11) also made solid contributions.
Holy Cross 73, at Boston U. 70 (OT)
Corey Lowe (24 points) and Tyler Morris (23) combined to score 47 points for the Terriers, but it was not enough to overcome the Patriot League's Holy Cross... Morris drained a buzzer-beating three at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime... Lowe went to the line with a chance to tie the game with 16 ticks remaining in OT, but connected on just one of two attempts.

Tuesday, January 9
*Albany at UMBC, 7 p.m.
The Retrievers look to start the America East Conference season 3-0 for the first time in program history... The Great Danes are 1-1 in league play, coming off an 11-point loss at Binghamton on Saturday... Albany was a perfect 3-0 versus UMBC last season, including a victory over the Retrievers in the quarterfinals of the 2006 America East Championship at Binghamton University's Events Center.
*Maine at Boston U., 7 p.m.
The Terriers look to snap a six-game losing streak as they host the Black Bears, who are on a four-game slide of their own... Both squads are looking for their first league win of the season... The two split their regular-season series last year with the road team winning in both instances.
*Vermont at New Hampshire, 7 p.m.
The Catamounts try to extend their league-best win streak to four games as they head to Durham, N.H. to take on the Wildcats... UVM is 1-0 in league play, while UNH is 1-1... Vermont swept both meetings between the two last season.
*Binghamton at Stony Brook, 7 p.m.
Coming off an upset victory over defending champion Albany, the Bearcats look to make it two in a row as they host another in-state rival, the Seawolves... Stony Brook is off to an 0-2 start to league play and is in search of its first conference win of the 2006-07 season... The Seawolves will try to snap a three-game skid... The Bearcats swept the regular-season series over Stony Brook last season, winning by an average of 13.5 ppg.
