Boston University's Nick Goodman (Watertown, Mass.) and Marisa Ryan (Farmington, Conn.) have been named America East Men’s and Women’s Track Performers of the Week, respectively, while Albany's Freddie Wills (Londonderry, N.H.) and New Hampshire's Erin Moore (Nashua, N.H.) earn Men’s and Women's Field Performers of the week, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday (January 23).
Goodman led the Terriers with two first-place finshes at Boston University's quad-meet on January 17. He beat out 12 other competitors to finish first in the mile with a time of 4:13.28 and also won the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.51, he was the only competitor to finish under two minutes. Goodman's efforts helped Boston University defeat Boston College and the University of Massachusetts.
Ryan paced the Terriers with two first-place finishes at the quad-meet. She won the mile in 4:50.61 and also placed first in the 3000, defeating 13 other competitors with a time of 9:56.12. The Terriers defeated both Sacred Heart and the University of Massachusetts during the meet.
Wills tied for first-place with teammate Felipe Reyes in the long jump at UAlbany's Great Dane Classic. The two had a leap of 23 feet, 5.5 inches, qualifying for the IC4A meet. His triple jump of 47 feet, 1 inch was good for second place and qualified him for the IC4A's.
Moore was one of two Wildcats to garner two first-place victories. She won the shot put with a throw of 41 feet, 8.75 inches and the weight throw in 51 feet, 9.25 inches as the Wildcats won their tri-meet over the University of Massachusetts and Holy Cross.
