Albany’s Joe Greene (Geneva, N.Y./Edison) and Vermont’s Carmen Lagala (Montpelier, Vt./Montpelier) are the America East Track Performers of the Week. Binghamton’s Paddy Hennessy (Selkirk, N.Y./Bethleham) and New Hampshire’s Erin Moore (Nashua, N.H./Nashua) are the America East Field Performers of the Week. The accolades were announced Tuesday (May 2).

Greene, a freshman, finished 12th in the championship 400-meter hurdles at the Penn Relays last week, plus ran the anchor leg of the 4x400 relay twice. In the hurdles, he recorded a personal-best 51.87 seconds to meet the NCAA Regional qualifying mark for the second time this season. The freshman finished with one of the best performances in the event in school history, only 27-hundredths of a second back of the Albany standard, which was established in 1990. Greene went on to run an anchor split of 46.4 seconds in the 4x400 relay on Friday, which finished in a school-record 3:10.50. His performance helped the team shave nearly two seconds off the previous standard. On Saturday, the relay took fourth place in the IC4A 4x400 competition in 3:10.80. Greene was consistent, anchoring the relay with a team-best 46.5 split.

Lagala ran her unbeaten streak in the middle distances to 13 and her overall record to 13-1 with a win in the 400-meter at the St. Lawrence Invitational. Lagala broke the Vermont school record in the event with a winning time of 56.41. She was the only runner under a minute and beat the second place finisher by five seconds.

Hennessy shattered his own school record by seven feet in winning the men's hammer at the Cornell Invitational this past weekend. His distance of 188-6 also met the qualifying standards for both the IC4A Championships and the NCAA Regional Meet.

Moore threw a personal best in all three of her field events this past weekend at the Wildcat Invitational. Moore grabbed first place in the shot put with a throw of 42’7”. She also captured second place in both the discus throw and hammer throw with final marks of 124’-8” and 158’-9”, respectively.
