McGraw, Robinson, Heppner Garner Weekly Baseball Honors

Maine's Matt McGraw (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) garners his second America East Player of the Week award of the season, while teammate Scott Robinson (Ajax, Ontario/Pickering) has been named Pitcher of the Week for the second time in three weeks. Vermont's Jeff Heppner (Riverhead, N.Y./Riverhead) has earned the first Rookie of the Week award of his career. The awards were announced on Monday (May 15).

McGraw led Maine on the week as he went 7-for-13 with five runs scored and four RBIs. He had three doubles and a pair of home runs, while slugging 1.231 on the week. McGraw went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI in Maine’s 20-4 win over Hartford and followed that up by hitting a home run in each game of the doubleheader on Sunday.

Robinson three six innings of shutout baseball to lead Maine to a 20-4 victory over Hartford on Saturday. He allowed just three hits while striking out five.

Heppner batted .571 on the week with three doubles, four RBIs and an impressive 1.000 slugging pct. The freshman catcher went 3-for-4 with three doubles, including two in one inning, along with 4 RBI in Vermont’s 14-5 win over UMBC Sunday after going 1-for-3 in 7-6, 14-inning win at UMBC on Saturday.
