UMBC and Stony Brook represent the America East Conference in the latest STX Coaches' Poll. The Retrievers are ranked 15th, while the Seawolves are 19th in the poll that was released on Monday (April 10).

On the week, UMBC lost a hard-fought, one-goal game to in-state rival #13 Towson, 8-7, before cruising past league foe Hartford, 15-8. Stony Brook is currently riding a three-game win streak, which includes victories #18 Denver, 9-6, and three-time defending America East Champion Albany, 13-11.
The Retrievers and Seawolves are currently knotted atop the conference standings, along with Binghamton, with identical 2-0 league marks. The top four teams in America East advance to the conference tournament, which will be hosted by the top seed on May 5 and 7, with the winner earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
Albany (8) and Binghamton (1) also received votes in the STX Coaches Poll, while UMBC was ranked 15th in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll as well. Stony Brook (30), Albany (18) and Binghamton (2) garnered votes in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll too.
Stony Brook will host the 2006 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse North Quarterfinals at the 8,136-seat Kenneth P. LaVallee Stadium on Saturday, May 20. Chairbacks seats at the state-of-the-art, on-campus stadium, which opened in 2002, are already sold out.
