America East's Boston U. Nears Top-10 in Women's Lacrosse

With solid victories over Yale and Stony Brook last week, the Boston University women's lacrosse team moved up one spot to 11th in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association Poll. The top-20 poll was released on Monday (March 27).

The Terriers host cross-town rival Boston College on Wednesday at 4 p.m. before hiting the road to take on league foe UMBC on Saturday at 1 p.m. Saturday's conference contest is a rematch of last season's America East semifinal, which Boston University won, 20-5.

In other notable action around the league this week, Albany takes on in-state foe and 13th-ranked Syracuse on Tuesday at 4 p.m., while Saturday marks the first full day of conference competition with three league games on the slate. Albany is at New Hampshire, Stony Brook heads to Binghamton and Boston U. is at UMBC.

The four top squads in the conference will meet for the 2006 America East Women's Lacrosse Championship on May 5-7 at the highest seed with the winner earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
