Hui Ping Huang had 20 kills and 11 digs to lead St. John's to a 3-1 victory over UAlbany in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 30 before 1,415 fans at University Gymnasium. St. John's (31-4) meets No. 9 Minnesota (24-7) in the second round. Shelby Goldman had 18 kills and 12 digs for the Great Danes, who were making their second NCAA appearance in the last three years. Kamisha Kellam (above) and Ashley Crenshaw added 16 and 10 kills, respectively. UAlbany (19-13) reached the NCAAs by capturing the America East Conference Championship.
