TODAY'S ACTION
Sunday, November 26
Iona at New Hampshire, 1 p.m.
The Wildcats hope to continue their success at home as they welcome in MAAC-foe Iona... Earlier this season, the Gaels participated in the Preseason WNIT and defeated St. John’s in the opening round... America East schools are 2-2 against the MAAC this season.
Canisius at Boston U., 1 p.m.
The Terriers look to remain perfect as they play host to Canisius in their home opener. Boston U. is off to one of its best starts in program history winning three road games to start the season... This marks the second all-time meeting between Canisius and Boston U... Last year, the Terriers defeated the Griffins 72-68 in overtime.
Holy Cross at Albany, 2 p.m.
The Great Danes will try to get back on track as they play host to Holy Cross... Early this season, America East member Vermont defeated Holy Cross in the opening round of the TD Banknorth Classic... Overall, the league is 1-1 against Patriot-League opponents.
Hartford at Columbia, 2 p.m.
Hartford attempts to extend America East’s five-game winning streak, to start the season, over Ivy League opponents as they travel to Columbia... Early this season, the Hawks defeated Ivy-League foe Dartmouth in the opening round of the Preseason WNIT.
NJIT at UMBC, 2 p.m.
The Retrievers welcome in independant opponent New Jersey Institute of Technology... The Highlanders are in their first season in Division I, but have already recorded wins over Norfolk State and Wilmington (Del.)... The Retrievers are coming off a closely-contested 50-45 loss to Towson.

Saturday,November. 25
Vermont 56, vs. #22 Boston College 48
(URI Invitational | Kingston, R.I.)
The Catamounts did it again... This time it was the women’s basketball team upsetting a ranked (22nd) Boston College team, matching the efforts of the men’s team... Vermont defeated BC, 56-48, to win the URI Invitational... The win over BC marks Vermont’s first victory over the Eagles in the all-time series (now stands at 1-5) and it is the first win over an ACC team for the Catamounts... The win also marked UVM’s first win over a ranked opponent in the program’s history, the Catamounts entered the game 0-12 versus ranked teams.
at Maine 80, Clemson 78
(Dead River Company Classic | Orono, Maine)
Freshman guard Amanda Tewksbury drilled a 17-foot jumper at the buzzer to lift Maine to an 80-78 victory over Clemson in the Dead River Company Classic Championship... The Classic championship was the third for Maine in the program’s history. The Black Bears also accomplished the feat in 1995 (over Villanova) and 2004 (over St. Joseph’s)... The victory was Maine’s first over a major conference-foe since the 2004-05 season when the Black Bears defeated Michigan of the Big Ten, 69-61... Bracey Barker was named the Classic’s MVP, she scored a game-high 24 points.
Liberty 62, at Binghamton 45
The Bearcats were defeated by Big South foe Liberty 62-45... The Flames remain unbeaten at 4-0... Senior guard Shea Kenny scored a game-high and season-best 12 points while junior guard Laura Sario chipped in 10 points... Binghamton begins a three-game road trip on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. game at La Salle.
Friday, November 24
Vermont 75, at Rhode Island 52
(URI Invitational | Kingston, R.I.)
Brittney Cross scored 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting to lead three Vermont players in double figures as UVM earned a convincing, 75-52, win over Rhode Island in the opening round of the URI Invitational... With the victory, the Catamounts have advanced to the championship game in eight of the last nine in-season tournaments under head coach Sharon Dawley, including back-to-back championship games in 2006-07.
at Manhattan 61, Hartford 57
Manhattan handed Hartford its second loss of the young season earning a 61-57 win in a hard-fought, back-and-forth contest... The Hawks jumped out to an early 13-4 lead, but the Jaspers battled back to tie it... In the second half, Manhattan built and early lead, which Hartford made disappear, but in the end it was not enough... Ikea Wood scored a team-high 15 points for the Hawks.
at Maine 62, Brown 51
(Dead River Classic | Orono, Maine)
The Black Bears are off to their best start since 1997-98 as they improved to 3-1 with a 62-51 win over Brown in the opening round of the Dead River Company Classic... Maine will play Clemson in the tournament championship... Clemson won its opening round game, 95-88, over St. John’s... Bracey Barker scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead Maine.
Wednesday, November 23
at Binghamton 53, Fairleigh Dickinson 49
The Bearcats improved to .500 with a 53-49 win over NEC foe Fairleigh Dickinson... Junior forward Brianna Thompson recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, while Laura Sario added a team-high 16 points... Binghamton’s defense had 12 steals and held the Knights to just 27 percent shooting from the floor.
at Army 54, New Hampshire 51
Defending Patriot League champion Army downed the visiting Wildcats 54-51... Army’s Cara Enright buried a three-pointer from the right wing as time expired to break a 51-51 deadlock... Danielle Clark netted a team-high 14 points including a three-pointer with eight second left that tied the game at the time.
Tueday, November 21
Boston U. 93, at Northeastern 79
The Terriers remained perfect in the early going with a 93-79 win over crosstown foe Northeastern... Katie Meinhardt scored a game-high 26 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while Erica Kovach posted a double double with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Towson 50, at UMBC 45 (MASN)
The Retrievers held a 45-44 lead with just over a minute to play, but were outscored 6-0 in the final minute falling to Towson 50-45... Sharri Rohde scored 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the losing effort.
at Virginia Commonwealth 67, Albany 55
Virginia Commonwealth, first-place in the CAA, built a 20-point first-half lead against Albany, but the Danes fought back coming up short in a 67-55 loss to VCU... Albany outscored the Rams 36-28 in the second half... Britney McGee had a team-high 15 points and five steals for the Great Danes.
