TODAY'S GAMES
Hartford at Georgetown, 12 noon

A new era in Hartford men’s basketball gets underway as first-year head coach Dan Leibovitz makes his debut for the Hawks.

Maine at Harvard, 1 p.m.
Coming off a medical redshirt in 2005-06, senior Kevin Reed returns to the hardwood for the Black Bears... Picked to finish second in the preseason coaches’ poll, Maine is expected to be one of the league’s top squads.

UMBC at St. Peter’s, 2 p.m.
The Retrievers start things off with a trip to New Jersey to take on the Peacocks... UMBC has one of the youngest rosters in the league with only two seniors and two juniors.

Binghamton at Long Island, 4 p.m.
Coming off their best season since joining America East, the Bearcats open the 2006-07 season at Long Island... Junior point guard Mike Gordon returns for Binghamton.

Bucknell at Albany, 7 p.m.
The Great Danes raise their first-ever America East Championship banner as they host Bucknell in the season opener for both squads... Bucknell (No. 6) and Albany (No. 25) are both ranked is the collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Poll... Reigning America East Player of the Year, Jamar Wilson returns for his senior season to lead the Great Danes.


YESTERDAY'S RESULTS
George Washington 70, at Boston U. 57 (Agganis Arena)
Freshman Carlos Strong poured in a team-high 19 points for the Terriers in his collegiate debut... Boston U. trailed by just five, 55-50, with 7:36 to play, but the Colonials closed the game on a 15-2 run to secure the victory... A crowd of 4,778 was in attendance for the first of two regular-season games at Agganis Arena.

Stony Brook 65, at Colgate 59
The Seawolves opened the 2006-07 season with a 65-59 road victory over Colgate... Preseason all-conference pick Mitchell Beauford led Stony Brook with a game-high 20 points, while newcomer Ricky Lucas (18 points) and Mike Popoko (10) also netted double-figures... The Seawolves won just one non-conference road game all of last season.

at Boston College 86, New Hampshire 47
The 15th-ranked BC Eagles dominated down low to secure a convincing 39-point victory... BC out-rebounded UNH 47-20 and out-shot the Wildcats 57.7 percent to 33.3 percent... New Hampshire was led by Tyrece Gibbs’ 11 points, while unanimous preseason all-conference pick Blagoj Janev went 3-for-12 from the field, 1-for-6 from three, enroute to eight points.
