Stony Brook's Morgan Sweany (Mission Viejo, Calif/Capistrano Valley) garners her conference-leading third volleyball Player of the Week award of the season, while UMBC's Ashley Oscars (Bakersfield, Calif./Liberty) and Kaitlyn Deutsch (St. Louis, Mo./Southern Miss) of Stony Brook earn Rookie of the Week and Setter of the Week honors again as well. The awards were announced Monday (October 23).

Sweany continued to lead the Seawolves as the junior tallied 34 kills and hit .282 as the Stony Brook volleyball team went 1-1 over the week. In the loss to UMBC, Sweany notched her 12th double-double of the season, totaling 17 kills and 11 digs. Sweany followed this performance up with her 13th double-double of the season as she led Stony Brook over New Hampshire with 17 kills and 13 digs.

After failing to win the award last week for just the second time all season, Oscars continues her dominance of the Rookie of the Week honor as she earns her sixth on the season. Oscars extended her streak to 17 consecutive games with double-figure kills after posting 4.17 kills per game, 4.50 points per game and 1.17 digs per game last week. Oscars opened the week against Stony Brook, tallying 14 kills against the Seawolves with three digs, a block assist, and a hitting percentage of .344. In the next match against Albany, Oscars recorded 11 kills and four digs.

For the second-consecutive week and the third time this season, Deutsch earns the league's weekly award for the top setter. She continued her stellar season as the transfer setter tallied 99 assists over the weekend. In the loss to UMBC, Deutsch provided 43 assists and hit .444 with five kills and three blocks. Deutsch again was consistent for Stony Brook in the win over New Hampshire, as the junior setter totaled 56 assists and nine digs in the win.
