Binghamton's Jason Stenta (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Forks) earns America East Player of the Week honors for men's soccer for the second time this season, while UMBC's Andrew Gillis (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) earns America East Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were announced on Monday (October 23).
Stenta recorded a pair of shutouts this week to lift the Bearcats to its first-ever America East men's soccer regular season title. He made four saves in a 1-0 win over Albany and shutout Vermont on the final day of the regular season to clinch the title.
Gillis netted a pair of goals including the game-winner in a 5-2 win over Hartford on Saturday. The win knocked the Hawks from playoff contention.
