For the third-straight season, Boston University has earned the right to host the America East Field Hockey Championship on November 3 and 5 at Jack Barry Field in Cambridge, Mass.
The Terriers (12-6, 4-1 America East) finished the regular-season tied atop the conference standings with the University at Albany (12-6, 4-1), both boasting identical 4-1 league marks. The two were crowned co-champions on Saturday afternoon, with Boston U. earning the right to host the four-team tournament by virtue of its head-to-head victory over the Great Danes back on October 21.
Boston University will get the tournament underway on Friday, November 3 as it hosts the University of Vermont (10-7, 3-2) at 12 noon. No. 3 Maine (7-10, 3-2) and No. 2 Albany will then square off at approximately 2:30 p.m. The semifinal winners will meet for the league title on Sunday, November 5 at 1 p.m.
The regular-season crown is the ninth for the Terriers, while Albany earns its first-ever regular-season trophy. Boston University won the 2005 America East Field Hockey Championship.
