Boston University's Erin Calamari (Chester, Conn./Valley Regional) and University of Maine’s Kim MacDonald (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich) were named America East Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. The awards were announced Monday (September 19).

Calamari broke a scoreless tie in the closing minute of the first half against 13th ranked Northeastern. It was her first goal of the season and was scored on a perfectly executed penalty corner. The junior tri-captain drilled a shot to the boards with 20 seconds left before intermission on an assist from sophomore Sarah Shute and senior Colleen McClay.

MacDonald scored a goal and added an assist in Maine’s lone game, a 2-1 win over Massachusetts on Sunday afternoon. She assisted on Shaunessy Saucier’s goal at 31:52 that tied the game 1-1. MacDonald notched the game-winner at 43:43 on a scramble in front of the goal. It was the first game winner from the rookie.
