Maine’s Donald Drake and Binghamton's Katie Radzik have been named the America East Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Performers of the Week, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday (September 13). (Week 1 recap)
Drake, a junior at Maine, took first place in the Binghamton University Invitational on Saturday, running the 8,000-meter course in 25:29. He led the Maine team to a win in the event with 51 points. The team defeated conference opponents New Hampshire, UMBC, Albany and Binghamton.
Radzik, a freshman at Binghamton, won the women’s title at the Binghamton University Invitational. Radzik won her second consecutive race by covering the 5,000-meter course in 18:21. She finished 17 seconds ahead of the second place runner. The eight-team race featured conference opponents Albany, UMBC, Maine as well as non-conference Columbia, Colgate, Syracuse and Siena.
