Albany’s Kristen Holder has been named America East player of the week, while teammate Arlette Westdorp is the Rookie of the week for week two of the 2005 season. The awards were announced Monday (September 12).
Holder leads Albany in points (10) and goals (5) on the season. Three of her five goals came this week. She had two, including the game-winning goal, in Albany’s 4-1 win over Siena. She also scored the lone goal for the Great Danes in their 4-1 loss at Ohio State. Holder has started all six games this season.
Westdorp played a key role in both of Albany’s wins this week. She recorded an assist on Holder’s game-winning goal for her second on the season. Westdorp scored the unassisted game-winning goal against Ohio in overtime, and had two assists on both of the Great Danes other goals in the game.
