BOSTON ? A special Web site, www.masports.org/womensfinalfour, devoted to providing visitor and volunteer information on the 2006 NCAA? Women’s Final Four? was launched today by the Boston Local Organizing Committee (BLOC). The site is also accessible by clicking the official 2006 Women’s Final Four logo on the Web sites of co-host institutions, Harvard University (www.gocrimson.com) and Northeastern University (www.gonu.com).

The new Web site is the primary source of information for visitors, volunteers and fans for the 2006 Women’s Final Four, which takes place April 2 and 4 at the TD Banknorth Garden (the new name of Boston’s FleetCenter as of July 1, 2005).

The site features the latest news on the 2006 Women’s Final Four and related activities, including NCAA Hoop City?, which will take place in the Hynes Convention Center, and the YES (Youth Education through Sports) Clinics.

Among the most attractive features of the site for visitors will be the ability to reserve lodging, learn about volunteer opportunities, and check out the TD Banknorth Garden’s seat locator to get an advance look at the view of the arena from their seats. In addition, it provides access to the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau’s information on Boston sightseeing, restaurants and shopping options.

The new Boston site also provides easy access to www.NCAAsports.com, which includes comprehensive coverage of all NCAA Championships, as well as contact information for the BLOC, Harvard University, Northeastern University and the NCAA.

"This Web site will help fans and volunteers in their preparations for the 2006 Women’s Final Four, and we hope that fans find the site a convenient and invaluable resource," said Ron Petro, BLOC Executive Director. "From reserving housing to making restaurant and sightseeing plans to submitting a volunteer application, you will be able to find almost anything about the event ? and the host city of Boston ? on our Web site."

The national semifinal games will be Sunday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Eastern time, with the national championship game scheduled for Tuesday, April 4 at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time. All three games will be broadcast live on ESPN. Tickets for the games are sold out.
