Northeastern’s Tim Bush (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) earns his second-straight Player of the Week award of the season and shares this week’s honor with Albany’s Steve Wyland (Stratford, N.J./Sterling), while Binghamton’s Scott Diamond (Guelph, Ontario/Centennial Collegiate) earns his second-consecutive Rookie of the Week award and his first-ever Pitcher of the Week honor. The awards were announced on Monday (May 16).

Bush continued his hot streak, going 4-for-8 and homering twice in a doubleheader split with Maine. His nine homers now lead the team.

Wyland went 7-of-16 last week. Wyland’s best performance came in the Great Danes’ 14-13 come-from-behind victory over UMBC on Sunday as he went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored and three RBI. Wyland was critical in the eight-run eighth, as he smashed a bases-clearing double down the left field line.

Diamond tossed his second-straight complete-game shutout with a two-hit gem against Hartford. He only allowed two singles and has now gone 15.1 innings without allowing a run and has given up just two earned runs in his last 24.1 innings (0.74 ERA). In conference play, Diamond is 4-1 with a 2.00 ERA.
