Virginia Downs Albany in NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship

Drew Thompson and John Christmas each scored three goals in the first half, as No. 6 Virginia defeated America East Men's Lacrosse Champion Albany, 23-9, Saturday (May 14).

The Cavaliers scored 11 unanswered goals to take a 13-1 lead en route to a 15-3 edge at the half.

Senior Luke Daquino ended his brilliant college career with four goals and an assist. Daquino, the Great Danes' career scoring leader, had 102 goals and 131 assists over his four years at Albany. Chris Martocchia and Frank Resetarits each scored two goals. Three-time America East Championship Most Outstanding Player Kevin Rae closed his college career with 17 saves.
