Fiorani, Leland, Plati, Hauser Garner Weekly Awards

Kelly Fiorani (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) of UMBC and Katie Leland (Timonium, Md./Dulaney) of New Hampshire share America East Player of the Week honors, while Stacey Plati of UNH and Jenny Hauser of Boston University have been named the America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Awards were announced Monday (April 25).

Fiorani equalled her career high with a five-goal effort in UMBC's 16-7 win over Binghamton on Sunday. She converted two free position shots in the first half and added another score to help UMBC to a 9-4 halftime advantage. On the week she scored nine goals and added three assists for 12 points.

Leland recorded 14 points last week, including seven goals and six assists for 13 points against America East opponents.She scored a game-high five goals versus Binghamton, then recorded a game-high four assists against Albany. In addition to the offensive numbers, Leland contributed seven ground balls, two caused turnovers and one draw control in the week.

Plati went 2-0 last week in three games as she recorded a 7.85 goals against average and a .567 save percentage. In two America East games, Plati was 2-0 with a 6.00 GAA and .609 save percentage in 90 minutes of action, and that included a season-high 13 saves in the 17-7 victory at Albany.

Hauser scored a game-high six goals and had one assist in Boston U.'s 17-8 win over Stony Brook. She scored a game-high four goals in the Terriers' 14-3 win over Vermont. On the season, she leads the team in goals (44) and points (54).
