Payne, Lotmore, Crossman, James Garner Week 2 Accolades

Northeastern’s Idris Payne (New York, N.Y./Fordham Prep) and Alyssa Lotmore (Albany, N.Y./Bishop Maginn) of Albany have been named the Men’s and Women’s Track Performers of the Week, respectively, while Northeastern’s Adam Crossman (South Deerfield, Mass./Frontier) and Boston University’s Tahari James (Branford, Conn./Branford) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Field Performers of the Week, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday (April 12).

Payne took second in the 400-meter and helped lead the 4x100 relay team to victory as Northeastern placed second at the UConn Invitational this weekend. Payne ran the 400m in 48.57 and the 4x100 team took first in a time of 42.17.

Lotmore finished sixth in the 5,000-meter run at the Duke Invitational. Her time of 16:51.77 was the first sub-17 minute 5000m ever by a UAlbany runner and qualified her for the NCAA Regional meet. Her time bested her own school record she set last season by 40 seconds.

Crossman threw a season-best 189’2 to win the Javelin and help lead Northeastern to a second place finish at the UConn Invitational this weekend. It was Crossman’s first victory of the outdoor season.

James took sixth in the long jump at the Duke Invitational with a leap of 18’9.75. She also placed sixth in the 200-meter development dash in a personal-best time of 25.89.
