Cappadoro, Thomson, Finkelman Named for Weekly Men's Lacrosse Honors

Jason Cappadoro (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) of Stony Brook and Merrick Thomson of Albany share America East Player of the Week honors while Hartford’s Alex Finkelman (Providence, R.I./Providence Country Day) is the conference's Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday (April 11).

Cappadoro totaled 10 points in two games to lead Stony Brook to a 1-1 week. He had a goal and a career high four assist in Tuesday's overtime loss to No. 4 Army. Cappadoro followed that up with four goals and one assist in Saturday's 20-10 win over Hartford.

Thomson scored a season-high seven goals with one assist in UA's 12-6 victory over Binghamton. His seven goals were one off his schoo single -game record set against Hartford on April 21, 2004. Thomson also had three goals and one assist against Johns Hopkins.

Finkelman made his first career start against Siena on Tuesday and helped the Hawks to a 9-8 overtime victory, making a then-career high 14 saves. He followed up that effort withhis second straight start, making a career-high 18 saves against Stony Brook and keeping the game close in the first half.
