Amy Taylor (Owings, Md./Northern) of Stony Brook and Michelle Bussichella (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) of Boston University were named America East Player and Defender of the Week, respectively, while Meaghan Hanley (Newark, Del./Middletown of Vermont was named America East Rookie of the Week. Each of the awards was announced Monday (March 7).
The sophomore Taylor racked up seven points on five goals and two assists to lead the Seawolved in a 19-17 win over Fairfield.
Bussichella, a junior at Boston U., anchored a defensive unit that limited Massachusetts to just four goals off 13 shots in the Terrier’s 14-4 season-opening victory. She had two caused turnovers and two ground balls while committing no turnovers.
Hanley has played every minute in goal for the Catamounts this season, making 18 saves in three games. She made three saves in her collegiate debut in a loss to Sacred Heart, but bounced back with six saves in a victory over Siena – her first collegiate win. Hanley added nine saves in the four-overtime win at Quinnipiac.
