Senior Vanessa Cox (Newton, Mass./Newton North) of Vermont, Senior Anne Sheridan (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park) of Boston University, and Freshman Jenny Hauser (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) of Boston U. are the America East Player, Defender and Rookie of the Week, respectively. The awards were announced Monday (March 21).
In two games last week Cox tallied nine points on eight goals and one assist. She scored five goals in UVM's 13-7 victory over Central Connecitcut. Cox leads the team in scoring with 17 points.
Sheridan improved her record to 4-0 on the season with a pair of wins over ranked opponents last week. She made a game-high 14 saves in Boston U.'s 16-9 upset win over No. 11 Loyola on March 19. Sheridan also made 11 saves in the Terrier's 8-7 victory over No. 7 Hofstra on March 16.
Hauser, who takes the rookie award for the second consecutive week, had four goals and two assists in Boston U.'s win over Loyola. She scored three goals- including the game-winner with 19 seconds left in regulation- in Boston U.'s 8-7 upset win over No. 7 Hofstra. On the season, the freshman leads Boston U. in both goals (16) and points (19).
