Boston University’s Angie Martin (Catonsville, Md./Seton Keough), Michelle Bussichella (Winchester, Mass./Winchester), and Jenny Hauser (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes) were named the America East Player, Defender and Rookie of the Week respectively. Each of the awards was announced Monday (March 14).
The sophomore Martin had four points off one goal and a game-high three assists in Boston U.’s win over Monmouth. Martin also contributed three ground balls in the win over the Hawks.
Bussichella, who picks owns both weekly defensive honors this season, contributed five ground balls and one caused turnover while committing no turnovers in Boston U.’s 17-11 win over Monmouth.
Hauser scored a game-high six goals and added an assist in the Terriers’ 17-11 win over Monmouth. She scored six-goals off just eight shots. She also contributed two ground balls and one caused turnover. On the season, the freshman leads Boston U. in both goals (9) and points (10).
