New Hampshire’s Lindsay Adams (Theresa, N.Y./Indian River) and Ikea Witt (Vineland, N.J./Sacred Heart) of Hartford share the Wilson Player of the Week award, while Northeastern’s Shaleyse Smallwood (Boston, Mass./O’Bryant) continued her freshman dominance and has been named Rookie of the Week for the seventh time this season.

Adams led the Wildcats in scoring (19.0 ppg) in two victories as UNH extended its winning streak to three games and moved into a tie for third place in the standings. Against Northeastern, she scored 15 points and pulled down four rebounds. She scored the first five points in a 10-0 run midway through the second half that enabled UNH to pull away from the Huskies. In front of a regional television audience at Albany, Adams scored a career-high 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 shooting from the three-point line, and 4-of-5 shooting from the free throw line.

Witt averaged 20.5 ppg and 5.5 rpg as the Hawks defeated Binghamton and Boston University last week to remain tied atop the America East standings with Maine. Witt poured in a career-high 29 points on 11-of-16 shooting to lead the Hawks in Saturday’s 65-60 win at Boston University. Her 29 points tied for sixth all-time in Hartford’s individual game records and rank as the highest total since Janeka Lopp scored a school-record 36 points against Drexel during the 2000-01 season. Witt also grabbed a season-high eight rebounds and handed out three assists in the win. In Wednesday’s 51-46 win over Binghamton, Witt finished with 12 points, three rebounds and two assists. Witt shot 92 percent (11-of-12) from the free throw line and 60 percent (15-of-25) from the field last week. She leads the team in scoring (11.4 ppg).

Smallwood's seven weekly honors ranks tied for second-most in league history with Laura Seiden of New Hampshire (1989-90) and one behind all-time leader Rachel Bouchard of Maine (1987-88). Seiden and Bouchard both went on to earn the league’s Rookie of the Year award. On the week, Smallwood recorded double-digits in both of NU games, including a game-high 20 against New Hampshire. Smallwood added 15 points, three assists and a steal against Vermont and stands second on the team in scoring with 14.8 points per game on the season.
