Binghamton’s Robert Kaczynski (Tychy, Poland/School of Sports) and UMBC’s Agnes Stanislawska (Zielona Gora, Poland/Lo VI) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Swimming Performers of the Week, respectively, while Chris Johnstone (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) of New Hampshire and Stony Brook’s Hailey Lewandowski (Suffern, N.Y./Ramapo) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Diving Performers of the Week, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday (February 1).
Kaczynski swam the 200 individual-medley in 1:54.91 and in the process, smashed the pool record of 1:56.08 set last season by Jakub Stroczynski of UMBC. In the same meet, he was part of the 400-yard medley relay and the 400-yard free relay that won in 3:34.63 and 3:18.77, respectively. On Saturday against Colgate, Kaczynski won his individual events, the 100-breast (58.85) and the 200-breast (2:08.91. He was also part of the 400-yard medley relay (3:31.12).
Stanislawska, a sophomore at UMBC, won the 200 individual medley (208.81) and 200 backstroke (2:08.15) against Marist.
Johnstone, who picks up his fourth weekly diving honor, took second-place in the one-meter dive, earning 245.48 points. He then rebounded in the next event, posting 271.80 points and winning the three-meter dive.
The sophomore Lewandowski took the top spots in both the one- and three-meter boards, diving to her best score of the year in the three-meter dive with a score of 236.18.
