Maine’s Nathan Richard (Vergennes, Vt./Vergennes Union), Colleen Miller (Missoula, Mont./Hellgate) and Boston University’s Lidija Breznikar (Kotije, Solvenia/Mountain View) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Swimming Performers of the Week, respectively, while Boston University’s Brian Lawler (San Luis Obispo, Calif./Laguna Hills) and Alex Crerar (Regina, Saskatchewan/Riffel) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Diving Performers of the Week, respectively. Richard, a freshman at Maine, took first place in two events in a dual meet at Boston University on Saturday. He won the 100-yard breast in 59.03 and also touched first in the 100-yard butterfly in 54.48. Richard also swam both the 200-yard medley relay and 200-free relay that finished second.
Miller, also a freshman at Maine, won two individual events against Boston University. She won the 200-free in 1:55.62 and was also first in the 500-free in 5:09.02. Miller was also the second leg of the 200-free relay that was second.
Breznikar won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:06.84, nearly two seconds better than her nearest competition. She won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:21.35, over seven seconds better than the runner-up. She also was victorious in the 200-yard IM, with a time of 2:09.40, and she helped the Terrier 200-yard medley relay to a win in 1:51.77. All told, she helped contribute 38 of Boston U.’s 155 points.
Lawler dominated in the three-meter dive against Maine, winning the event with 268.35, almost 35 points better than his nearest competitor. He also destroyed the competition in the one-meter dive, with a score of 319.95, 90 points better than his closest foe.
Crerar won both the one-meter and the three-meter diving events against Maine. She scored 272.10 points in the three-meter event and registered 251.55 in the three-meter dive, winning both events handily.
