Maine's Marie-Andree Canuel (St.-Jean-Chrysostome, Quebec/F.X.-Garneau) led Maine on the week with four goals and one assist for nine points enroute to being named Player of the Week, while Boston University's Marisha Schumacher-Hodge (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley) and UMBC's Catie Bukowski (Odenton, Md./Arundel) share Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were announced on Monday (October 10).

Canuel notched a hat trick in Maine’s 6-0 win over Stony Brook and followed that up with a goal and an assist in Maine’s 2-0 win over Hartford. She notched the game-winner in Maine’s victory over Stony Brook and had a hand in five of Maine’s eight goals on the week. Her four goals on the week gives her a team-leading six goals on the season.

Schumacher-Hodge scored her first collegiate goal in the rainy 1-0 win over Binghamton Friday night. She out-jumped a slew of Binghamton defenders in the goal box on a ricocheted shot, and headed the ball past Bearcat keeper Kristie Bowers. The goal was the game-winner and kept the Terriers unbeaten in league play. Schumacher-Hodge had just one assist on the year prior to Saturday’s key goal. Bukowski earned two shutouts this weekend, totaling six saves in two games. She has blanked three consecutive opponents and has allowed only one goal in her last 360:00 to lower her goals against average to 0.93.
