Zaborowski, O'Grady, Quiller, James Pick Up Weekly Honors

Boston University’s Lucjan Zaborowski (Chorzow, Poland/Chorzow) and Vermont’s Erin O’Grady (Raymond, N.H./Raymond) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Track Performers of the Week, respectively, while Binghamton’s Rory Quiller (West Point, N.Y./James I. Oneil) and Boston U.’s Tahari James (Branford, Conn./Branford) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Field Performers of the Week, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday (January 25).

Zaborowski, the junior Terrier, won the 500-meter run at Boston U.’s Terrier Cup on Saturday, January 22. He crossed the line first with a time of 1:03.44.

In Vermont’s own indoor invitational versus Middlebury, the senior O’Grady won the 200-meter race with a time of 25.58, led the 4x400 relay team to a first-place finish (4:14.50) and placed second in the 55-meter dash (7.57). Vermont went on to take overall honors in the team competition.

Quiller continued his outstanding season by breaking two of his own school records, meeting the NCAA provisional qualifying standard in the pole vault and winning the men’s heptathlon at the Cornell Invitational on Saturday. Quiller’s winning score of 5,051 eclipsed his old mark of 4,816 points, which was set at last season’s America East Indoor Championship. Furthermore, in the pole vault portion of the heptathlon, Quiller vaulted 17’2.75, breaking his previous best height of 16’8.75.

James, a freshman at Boston University, won the triple jump at Boston U.’s quad meet on Tuesday, January 18. She finished first with a distance of 36’11. James also placed second in the long jump (18’1.50).
