Stony Brook’s Dale Summerville (Waiuku, New Zealand/King’s College) and Northeastern’s Ahndraea Allen (Roselle Park, N.J./Roselle Park) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Track Performers of the Week, respectively, while UMBC’s Mike Zyvoloski (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) and Quiteelia Boyd (Waldorf, Md./Westlake) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Field Performers of the Week, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday (January 18).
Summerville posted a pair of top-three finishes to lead the Seawolves at the NYU Collegiate Invitational. The senior set a Stony Brook record in the mile, finishing second in an IC4A qualifying time of 4:10.69, while taking third in the 1,000-meter run in 2:30.66.
Allen, a senior at Northeastern, won the 55-meter and 200-meter dashes with times of 7.13 and 24.92 respectively, to lead NU to a win at the Great Dane Classic.
Zyvoloski won the weight throw competition at the George Mason Father Diamond Open last Saturday. His winning toss of 52’1 was tops over a field that featured competitors from University of Virginia, University of Texas and Delaware. He also took fifth in the shot put event, with a distance of 46’6.
The Freshman Boyd took first-place at the GMFD Open last weekend. In the weight throw she tossed a distance of 47’3 to finish as the top competitor. Boyd also placed fifth in the shot put with a distance of 39-ft.
