Binghamton’s David Holmes (Doncaster, England/Derby University) and New Hampshire’s Melissa Lague (Salem, N.H./Salem) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Swimming Performers of the Week, respectively, while Keith Burgie (Arundel, Maine/Arundel) and Shannon Scott (Cumberland, Maine/Cumberland) of Maine have been named the Men’s and Women’s Diving Performers of the Week, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday (January 18).
Holmes tied the school record of 21.18 in the 50 free, which was set by Dan Holmberg last season. He was also victorious in the 200-Butterfly, touching the wall in 1:56.32. Holmes was also part of the 400-yard medley relay team that triumphed with a time of 3:30.69.
Burgie won both the one-and three-meter dives last weekend, with scores of 245.70 and 223.20 respectively. Both marks are season bests for Burgie.
Scott took first in the one-meter dive (209.25) and the three-meter dive (206.55) in a home meet versus Providence last weekend.
