Coppenrath, Bilal, Hardy Earn Men's Basketball Honors

Vermont senior Taylor Coppenrath was named America East Player of the Week for the third-straight time while Rashad Bilal of UMBC and Antwan Hardy of Stony Brook share Rookie of the Week honors.

Coppenrath (West Barnet, Vt./St. Johnsbury Academy) averaged 26.5 ppg and 7.0 rpg as the Catamounts won two America East contests. The 6-9 forward scored 18 of his 28 points in the second half as the Catamounts held off Northeastern, 75-60, Wednesday. He added 25 points, including the game-winning shot with 6.1 seconds left in a 67-66 win over Maine Saturday. Coppenrath, who is 44 points shy of becoming the ninth player in the 26-year history of America East to score 2,000 points, leads the nation in scoring with 26.5 ppg.

Bilal (White Plains, N.Y./IMG Academy) scored all 10 of his points in the final 7:13 as UMBC rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit in a 74-67 win over Stony Brook Wednesday. He added 13 points in a loss at Hartford Saturday.

Hardy (Rockville, Md./Montrose Christian) was again the offensive catalyst for the Seawolves, scoring a game-high 15 points with six rebounds and three assists as Stony Brook rallied for a 73-64 win over New Hampshire Sunday. He scored a team-high 16 points in a 74-67 loss at UMBC Wednesday.
