Albany senior goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul and Stony Brook forward Michael Palacio were named Player and Rookie of the Week by America East on September 7.
Coundoul (Bronx, N.Y./Martin Luther King) posted shutouts in each of the Great Danes' first three games. He made 11 saves in a 1-0 win over host Duquesne at the Duquesne Invitational and was named the tournament's MVP. He has a scoreless streak of 318 minutes dating back to last season.
Palacio (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) scored a goal and added an assist in his collegiate debut as the Seawolves welcomed new head coach Cesar Markovic with a 2-1 win in overtime vs. Marist. Palacio set up Jose Sura with just under six minutes remaining to tie the game, 1-1, then scored with 55 seconds left in the first overtime for the win.
