Creatini, Vendetti, Holder and Spuehler Garner Weekly Field Hockey Awards

Northeastern's Mari Creatini (Auburndale, Mass./Newton North) and Boston University's Lauren Vendetti (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) have been named America East Co-Players of the Week, while Albany’s Kristen Holder (Toronto, Canada/ASE # 1) and Boston University’s Pam Spuehler (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln) have received Co-Rookies of the Week honors. The awards were announced Monday (September 27).

Creatini scored three goals as Northeastern beat New Hampshire, 6-1, in its first America East game of the season. All three of Creatini’s goals came off penalty corners. Creatini now leads Northeastern with 10 goals. Vendetti scored twice, including the game-winner in overtime, in a 2-1 win over the University of Vermont. Both goals were off penalty corner situations. In a 4-1 win over Dartmouth, Vendetti assisted on one goal. Vendetti took a game-high seven shots against the Catamounts and leads the team in shots with 23.

Holder scored the game-winning goal in UA’s 2-1 victory over Providence. Holder is third on the team in scoring with three goals for six points. Spuehler (was a major factor in the Terriers’ 4-1 win over Dartmouth, scoring a pair of goals in the victory. Both goals came on redirected shots with Spuehler in front of the Big Green cage. It was her first career multiple-goal game.
