New Hampshire’s Tim Perry (Bethel, Conn.) and Boston University’s Victoria Botticelli (Garden Grove, Calif.) have been named the America East Men’s and Women’s Cross Country performers of the week, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday (September 14).

Perry, a senior at UNH, finished in second place with a time of (25:04) at the Wildcat Invitational on Sept. 11th. Perry was only eight seconds behind the first-place finisher from Harvard University.

In her first-ever collegiate cross country race, Botticelli won the Terriers’ season-opening quad-meet while leading the Terriers to a first-place finish ahead of regional-rivals Northeastern, Manhattan, and Rhode Island. Botticelli, who joined the track team last winter, completed Franklin Park’s 5-mile course in 18:21. Her next closest competitor, Boston U. freshman Christine Laakso (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) followed in 18:26.
