For the second time in as many weeks, Northeastern's Liane Dixon (Vineyard Haven, Mass./Martha's Vineyard Regional) has been named America East Player of the Week for field hockey, while Vermont’s Kelly McClintock (Williston, Vt./Rice Memorial) has been named Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday (September 13).
In Northeastern’s two wins, Dixon netted four goals and added two assists to help the Huskies remain a perfect 6-0 for season. Dixon scored three goals and added an assist in NU’s defeat of Quinnipiac on Friday and added another goal and assist on Saturday in NU’s victory over previously undefeated Holy Cross.
McClintock scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to help lift the Catamounts to a 3-2 come-from-behind win in overtime over Brown on Sunday. McClintock leads Vermont with three goals and is tied for the team lead with 10 shots.
