Goalkeepers Kevin McKeown of Binghamton and Brendan Callahan of Stony Brook were named All-America selections by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) on Monday (May 31). Both were honorable mention choices.
McKeown, the America East Player of the Year, led the Bearcats to the regular-season conference title. He was 10-6 and ranked third in the nation with a 7.03 goals against average and 16th in save percentage at .589.
Callahan posted a 9-3 record in 2004 and led the nation with a 5.96 goals against average and .687 save percentage. He became the first goalie to lead the nation in save percentage and goals against average in the same season since Trevor Tierney of Princeton did so back in 2001.
