Albany, Stony Brook, Boston University, and Maine have all qualified for the four-team America East Softball Championship.
In the first round of the America East Championship on Thursday, May 13, No. 2 Stony Brook (13-7, 29-31) will take on No. 3 Boston University (11-7, 23-30) in the first game at 12 noon. Albany (17-2 America East, 34-16 overall) will be the No. 1 seed and will face No. 4 Maine (12-8, 25-20) at 2:30 p.m.
All rounds of the America East Softball Championship will be held at Kessock Field on the University of Maine campus. The four-team tournament is a double-elimination format.
Last season Boston University won its third-straight America East Championship by defeating Albany 3-1 in the final game. The Terriers have won seven conference titles, including the inaugural America East Championship in 1992. Maine is the only other current member to have also won a championship (1994).
