Kristen Brust (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem) of Stony Brook is the America East Player of the Week while Nicole McMillon (Vermontville, Mich./Lansing Catholic Central) of Hartford is the America East Rookie of the Week. Ashlee Freeman (Northridge, Calif./Oaks Christian) of Boston University and Jenna Merchant (Sandy, Utah/Sandy) of Maine share America East Pitcher of the Week of the honors. (May 3)
Brust collected six hits in 18 at bats during the week including four home runs. Brust contributed 11 RBI and also crossed the plate six times for the Seawolves.
Freeman tossed 22.1 scoreless innings and collected three wins for the Terriers. She struck out 20 during the week including a career-high 10 against Hartford. Merchant allowed no runs over 22 innings and won two games while striking out 20. Against Boston University she pitched 10 scoreless innings and struck out 12.
McMillion picked up two wins, including a four-hit shutout against Stony Brook, to go along with another win over Boston University. She allowed just two earned runs during the week while striking out seven.
