Kevin Rae of Albany and Brian Chaapel of Binghamton share America East Player of the Week honors while Albany's Frank Resetarits is the conference's Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday (April 19).
Rae (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown), a junior goalkeeper, had a season-high 19 saves, including eight in the fourth quarter, in a 9-6 win over Vermont Saturday. He made 15 saves in a 12-9 win over Yale Wednesday.
Chaapel (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan Academy), a sophomore attackman, scored a career-high four goals in the Bearcats 13-9 win over Quinnipiac Saturday. With the win, Binghamton secures one of the four berths in the America East Championship.
Resetarits (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) scored three goals and added five assists in the wins over Yale and Vermont. The attackman had two goals and two assists in the 9-6 win over Vermont Saturday and now ranks third in America East scoring with 22 goals and 13 assists for 35 points in 10 games.
