Andee Lindgren (La Habra, Calif./Sonora) of Albany has been selected as the America East Player of the Week. Ashlee Freeman (Northridge, Calif./Oaks Christian) of Boston University and Nikki Thompson (West Seneca, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) of Hartford, were named the America East Pitcher and Rookie of the Week, respectively (April 12).
Lindgren was dominant during the week, both at the plate and in the circle, as she led the Great Danes to a 4-1 record against conference opponents. She racked up a .650 batting average (13-for-20), including 10 RBI, and also recorded a 3-1 record this week, compiling a 1.05 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 20 innings.
Freeman recorded three shutout wins during the week against conference foe UMBC. She allowed no runs in 17.0 innings while striking out 13. Overall, including two appearances against Hofstra, she went 3-1 with a 2.13 ERA and 19 strikeouts.
Thompson cranked out six hits in 15 at bats, while driving in six runs for the Hawks. Against Vermont, she hit for the cycle, going went 4-for-4 with five RBI, allowing the Hawks to outlast Vermont and pick up the 12-11 conference victory.
