Kevin McKeown of Binghamton was named America East Player of the Week for the second week in a row while Merrick Thomson of Albany was chosen Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday (April 12).
McKeown had 10 saves, including seven in the second half, in a 5-4 win over No. 19 UMBC Wednesday. The sophomore goalkeeper also had 10 saves in the 13-5 win over Hartford Saturday as the Bearcats improved to 3-0 in America East play.
Thomson scored four goals in the Great Danes 16-7 win over Stony Brook Saturday. The attackman has four or more goals in each of his three conference games to date and ranks among the national leaders in both goals (25) and points (32).
