Senior Heather Ernest (Temple, Maine/Mt. Blue) of Maine has been named the Wilson Player of the Week, while for the second-straight week, Stony Brook's Mykeema Ford (Trenton, N.J./Trenton) has recieved the Wilson Rookie of the Week honor.
Ernest averaged 20 ppg and 10 rpg over two games for the Black Bears. Ernest led all scorers in Maine's 76-61 win over Stony Brook as she recorded her 10th double-double of the season with 19 points and 14 boards. She was a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe and also contributed four steals. In a 61-40 win over Hartford, Ernest dropped in 21 points for the Black Bears. She also recorded six rebounds which put her over the 1,000 career-rebound mark. Ernest became one of just three players in Maine history to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in their playing career.
Ford averaged 14.5 ppg in Stony Brook's two contests as she netted 10 points against
conference-leader Maine and a team-high 19 points against Northeastern. Ford is receiving the honor for the fourth time this season.
