Sophomore attackman Chris Martocchia of Albany and goalkeeper Brendan Callahan of Stony Brook were named America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, Monday (March 29).
Martocchia (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) posted career-highs in points (7) and assists (4) in a 19-11 win over Quinnipiac Saturday. He added three ground balls.
Callahan (Hanover, Md./Gonzaga) made seven stops and allowed five goals in a 6-5 win over Vermont Saturday in the America East opener for both schools. He made a season-high 18 saves in a 7-3 win over Air Force Wednesday. He has won four-straight starts and lowered his goals against average to 5.30 while his save percentage is at .710.
