Barre, Lindgren and Freeman Garner Softball Honors

Rose Barre (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) of Binghamton, Andee Lindgren (LaHabra, Calif./Sonora) of Albany and Ashlee Freeman (Northridge, Calif./Oaks Christian) of Boston University were named the America East Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday, March 23.

Barre is riding a six-game hitting streak and has started the season off batting .439 in 41 plate appearances. Barre went 9-for-22 with two homers and nine RBI at the UMBC Spring Classic and was named to the all-tournament team at the James Madison Dukes Invitational after going 8-for-16 with four RBI.

Lindgren has a 1.12 ERA and holds a 4-1 record in seven appearances. She has recorded five complete games, has amassed 46 strikeouts and has allowed just seven earned runs while limiting opponents to a .219 batting average this season.

Freeman has pitched 14 complete games this season and has compiled a 2.61 ERA over 96.2 innings. She has compiled a 6-9 record and one save thus far and leads the Terriers in strikeouts with 61.
