UMBC Sweeps First Men's Lacrosse Honors

Pat Muston and Drew Westervelt of UMBC earned the first weekly conference honors for men's lacrosse. The awards were announced Tuesday (March 16).

Muston (Novi, Mich./Novi) is the America East Player of the Week. The senior midfielder has been the most dominant player for the 2-1 Retrievers, tallying 20 ground balls and winning 76.7 percent of his faceoffs. He won 14 of 19 draws vs. Hartford as the Retrievers defeated the Hawks, 14-4, in their first America East contest Saturday.

Westervelt (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) is the America East Rookie of the Week. The attackman/midfielder leads the Retrievers with six goals and has added three assists for nine points in three games. He had three goals in the Retrievers' America East win over Hartford Saturday.
