Sophomore Rachel Laws (Wyncote, Pa./Cheltenham) of Binghamton has been named the Wilson Player of the Week, while Stony Brook’s Mykeema Ford (Trenton, N.J./Trenton) and New Hampshire’s Ray Williams (Mississauga, Ontario/The Woodlands School) share this week’s Wilson Rookie of the Week honor. The awards were announced Monday (March 1).

Laws was instrumental in leading Binghamton to a pair of road wins this past week and extending the team’s current win streak to five games. She had a team-high 17 points in the Bearcats’ 60-55 overtime win at UMBC and followed that up with a 15-point effort at Boston U. on Saturday. Against the Terriers, Laws converted a pair of free throws with 3:04 remaining to put the Bearcats ahead for good. She has now reached double figures in the last 21 games, the longest such streak in the America East. The 6-0 forward leads Binghamton with a career-high 14.5 ppg and 6.8 rpg.

Ford netted 19.0 ppg on the week, while shooting 40.0 percent from three-point territory and 80.0 percent from the line. The 5-8 guard scored the game-winning basket with seven seconds left as the Seawolves upset Boston U. at home. Ford finished the game with 11 points, five assists and three steals. She followed that up with a game-high 27 points at UNH.

Williams averaged 14.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg on the week, while shooting 59.7 percent (13-for-22) from the floor. She was key in UNH’s victory over Stony Brook, recording her fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. The 6-0 forward also had three assists, three blocks and a steal in the contest. At Hartford, she was tied for the team lead with 14 points.
