Senior Aaron Yantzi (Waterloo, Ontario/Kitchner-Waterloo) of Vermont receives her fourth Wilson Player of the Week award, while Stony Brook’s Jessica Smith (Butler, N.J./Butler) takes home her second Wilson Rookie of the Week honor.

Yantzi averaged an impressive 25.5 ppg and 10.5 rpg on the week to earn her fourth Wilson Player of the Week award of the season. She scored a career-high 33 points in a loss at Stony Brook and set a new UVM single-game record by pouring in 27 points in the first half on 10-for-11 shooting. During one stretch of the first frame, Yantzi got the Catamounts back in the game by rattling off 18 straight points for Vermont. She also posted her league-leading 12th double-double of the year by grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds. The 6-1 forward followed that up with a team-high 18 points and eight rebounds in a loss to Boston University.

Smith’s solid play on the week was key as Stony Brook collected two more victories to extend its season-long winning streak to four games. Smith averaged 19.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 3.5 apg while shooting 55.6 percent (15-for-27) from the field. The freshman started out with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting to go with five rebounds and four assists in a win over Vermont, and capped the week off with a game-high 17 points along with nine boards and three helpers in a huge upset victory at Hartford.
