Boston University senior forward Rashad Bell and UMBC freshman guard Michael Knight were named America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, Monday (December 6).

Bell (Queens, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) helped lead the Terriers to two wins last week, including a 65-52 decision at New Hampshire in the first America East game of the season. He scored 20 points and added 11 rebounds with three assists and two blocked shots in the win at New Hampshire. The 6-8 forward was 8-of-9 from the free throw line as the Terriers pulled away down the stretch. He also had 11 points in a 73-68 win at Rhode Island Tuesday.

Knight (Seattle, Wash./Seattle Prep) scored eight of his 13 points in the second half as the Retrievers defeated Towson, 63-61 Saturday. The 6-3 guard, who was playing a prominent role after point guard Chris Pugh re-injured his ankle, scored six points in a 13-6 run that pushed the lead to 47-37 midway through the second half. He also scored seven points in a 69-62 loss at UMES Wednesday.
